The Challenge
With so many stakeholders, including 9 key partners, 27 manufacturers, and multiple teams, covering a race as dynamic and difficult as the 24h Nürburgring, Veritone, and its technical partners need to find a way to aggregate all of the footage captured across the 15-mile long track and make it easily accessible.

The Solution
“The key challenge was always, how can we provide the content quickly, comprehensively, and in a way that supports our stakeholders in finding the images they need?” said Nikolaus Spaleck, Managing Director, EMPA. “Veritone provides a cloud-based service and the AI function which helps the stakeholders and us to find and identify the fitting images for their communication.”
Integrated with the aiWARE Enterprise AI platform, Digital Media Hub can leverage engines from more than 20 cognitive categories to super boost discoverability.
Since 2017, base and Veritone have teamed up to create a fully cloud-based distribution service for the sports market. base serves as the foundational infrastructure for storage and accelerated file transfer. The Veritone aiWARE stack and Digital Media Hub sit on top of this infrastructure to allow the customer to log in and seamlessly access their data.
“We are a multi-cloud provider, so we will run applications on various clouds, infrastructure on various clouds, and provide that to a customer in a single seamless view,” said Ben Foakes, CEO, base. “aiWARE sits in the backend and does all the AI capabilities. For sports, this is great because you can auto-tag races, auto-tag sponsors, and seek out moments in an event that would be impossible with human data analytics.”

Cycle interactions (cycle next and cycle previous) allow users to cycle through a folder or group of objects at the click of a button. When a user clicks to activate this interaction, Ceros will automatically show the next object (or group or folder) in your targeted folder while also turning off the visibility for all of the other assets in that folder. Alternatively, you can use the cycle previous interaction to show the previous object in the folder.
To source new SVGs, locate the Media Library in the top toolbar, select "Icons," and search key terms.
To change the color, select the .svg file (try searching .svg in the layers panel), scroll down in the design panel, and select the color swatch.
In this experience, there are two tabs with only one visible at a time.
In the studio, after making your edits in each tab, make sure to turn the visibility of "tab: the challenge" ON and "tab: the solution" OFF.
The video background is pinned which means it is fixed to a specific point in the viewport. Pinning an object allows you to keep the objects always visible on the canvas, regardless of where the user scrolls on the canvas.
Note: Pinned objects do not currently work on full-height embedded experiences; only standalone experience and scrolling embedded experiences.
To unpin select the "pinned video background" group. Next to the X,Y coordinates click the pin icon.
To replace the video, select the video on the canvas or in the layers panel and click the "Replace Video" button, which is next to the video thumbnail in the design panel. Any video settings on the original video will carry over to the new one.
CASE STUDY:
The event will be remembered for some early mayhem that took out many leading cars. Despite making contact with the Manthey Porsche, the Audi Sport Team Phoenix (including Dries Vanthoor, Fred Vervisch, Kelvin van der Linde and Robin Frijns) pulled through to win the 50th 24h Nürburgring in style.
Within a matter of minutes, the live race footage was processed and made available to Audi, Team Phoenix, their sponsors, and the media. What historically was a much slower and manual process is now fully automated and accelerated by the use of Veritone Digital Media Hub, a cloud-based media management solution powered by artificial intelligence (AI) through Veritone aiWARE, a hyper-expansive Enterprise AI platform.
The iconic race features a unique mix of teams and drivers, from grassroots motorsports to elite GT street teams. More than 30 cars can win the race, with 140 cars in different classes competing on one of the most revered racetracks.
Veritone Digital Media Hub gives all parties involved in producing, broadcasting and promoting the race a central hub to upload and aggregate all of their content. Key stakeholders, including manufacturers, sponsors, and teams, can access this valuable media from anywhere in the world.
